download of holdem manager unsuccesful

I have had my key for holdem manager for quite a while now. However for about a month or three i have been trying to install it and it just doesnt work, let me elaborate:

1) First I downloaded the holdemmanager setup however it said it couldnt find the postgresql so i downloaded the combo package found via the link below:

2) I can see I downloaded the combo package however when I now open Holdem manager it says it failed to establish a connection to 127.0.0.1 how do i fix this?

This is usually a firewall or windows update issue.

First try to reboot.

If no help, try this:

Start > Programs > PostgreSQL > 8.x > Stop Service

Start > Programs > PostgreSQL > 8.x > Start Service

If that doesnt help delete the \postgresql\8.x\data\postmaster.pid file, if you see it. And reboot.


If that doesn't help you will have to reinstall PostgreSQL completely
Try the 8.4.4 (or 9.0) from PostgreSQL: The world's most advanced open source database (http://www.postgresql.org) and manually install it.
