    Default Official Scoring Thread

Ok, so it seems as if a lot of people have asked about how to setup the scoring profiles, but that no one has provided any answers. So because there is no one best scoring system do to peoples varying style of play, this thread can at least open dialogue so that people have some sense of idea as to what the different filters mean, and which ones are important for table selecting. As far as the default, it seems as if it just looks for players w/ a high VPIP, which is a start, but we all know that there are players that play like a 68/11 style that are not fish, and can actually play. Hopefully through input in this thread we can all find a scoring system that is suitable for us, and works better than the standard default.

    So lets start the sharing...

Someone posted the following in another thread

    Promote users with high VPIP:
    Score +50,Min Hands 25,Min stack 80,Vpip min 80
    Score +40,Min Hands 25,Min stack 80,Vpip min 50,Vpip max 80
    Score +30,Min Hands 25,Min stack 80,Vpip min 30,Vpip max 50

Promote users where we have a 'decent' read on:
    Score +10,Min Hands 50

    Demote 'decent' tight users:
    Score -20,Min hands 50,Vpip min 12,Vpip max 23,PFR min 8, PFR max 21

We hate shortstackers: Score -10,Stack Max 40

    Be carefull with winning users/regulars:
    Score -15,BB Min 0

    Love the longterm losers
    Score +10,BB max 0

Would we add these rules to our existing No Limit profile, or would we create a new profile with these rules?

Actually, I assign a small amount of points to players I don't know: that helps me to have a more complete database and I also think that unknowns are less likely to be regulars (I would probably have run across them if they were), and more likely to be fish (new players, recreational players who play every now and then, players who go busto and cannot play until the next time they have money to deposit).

    Just my 2c.

I have an important question concerning the logic behind those rules.

As to the example above: What score will a player with exactly 80 VPIP get (>25 Hands) and why?

    50 or 40 points?

    The boundaries work that way:

    [min...max)

    means:

"min" is included in the range, where "max" isn't.

    It's ">=min" and "<max".
