notecaddy very slow

I did a vacuum, and will try some of the other performance tips.

When I create a new note, it creates the notes at a rate of
17 hands per sec approx.

Just wondering is that really bad/slow, what would a normal number be?

It depends on so many things. Your processor and hard drive are important. How many hands in your database. How many definitions you already have. Have you optimized your database. Here is a good guide for that http://www.notecaddy.com/NoteCaddy%2...ide%20v1.2.pdf

Why when the notes are first being created, it goes super fast 3000 hands/second,
and that number declines slowly every second until it goes really slow like 14 hands /second.
Wish it could stay at the 3k/second

This is because when there is more data to update, the reads and writes to the database get larger. Those disk I/O operations are inherently slow. Not sure which SSD you are using but that can make a big difference. My favorite is the Samsung 850 EVO
