Default installing HM1 with windows 8

    Hello,

When I try installing HM1, I get a message "installation of postgresql failed".
Is there anything I can do?

    Hello,

I went Download PostgreSQL | EnterpriseDB and I installed postgres (how do I know if I need Win 32 or win 64? I installed both).
When I start HM1, I first get the message "the following error occured when trying to open the database : failed to establish a conection to 127.0.0.1" then "a connection to postgres cannot be made, would you like to have HM attempt to start the service?" and then "sorry, HM was unable to start the service" and immediatly after "HM has started the service, please try again"... and the same when I try again.

Turn on the secondary Logon. The secondary logon service is a standard windows service which is available on every windows computer. In the latest versions it is not started automatically. You need to start it via control panel > administrative tools > services. Starting it once should insure it works in the future also.

    Check your hosts file:

In Windows--> Control Panel--> System--> check if you have a 32 bit or 64 bit operation system.

    You can install SQL 8.4.x.
    If 8.4. won't run install 8.2.x: http://ftp.postgresql.org/pub/binary...l-8.2.22-1.zip

By the way, after fixing the host file I still get the message "failed to establish conection to 127.0.0.1

    No, don't use Stackbuilder.

Try 8.2 again, install it to a non-system folder, for example C:/PostgreSQL
