i dont know much bout computers but i have an 8gb flash drive that has ready boost. when i stuck it in the computer asked me if i wanted to use the flash drive's space to make my comp faster. will this work well for hem?

I presume you mean storing postgreSQL on it, the problem is it wont take very long before the 8gb is used up so its not ideal to be storing your database on flash drive for this reason but it would in theory work.

Readyboost will take a USB Memory Stick---> and use it as RAM.
It's ONLY useful if when you have a computer with only <512 MB RAM... and your computer is really slow whenever your computer is using the virtual memory (pagefile on for example a really slow 5400 RPM harddisk). With Readyboost it can use your >2GB USB 2.0 Memory Stick instead.
