Default Size of database affect import speed?

As titled, is it normal that hands import slower in a larger database? i just did an experiment. I got over 70 h/s with a relatively new database and only 10-15 h/s with a database with 5 mil hands in it. I do all the backup, performance tips etc on a monthly basis.

    Default

    This is normal...

Also if you import 1000 big txt files... it will import really fast in the beginning, but the speed will drop gradually over time.

Therefore it's best, to only import about 300 MB of .txt files at a time. VACUUM/ANALYZE after each import.

You should often purge hands, and do all the other performance tips..: maybe weekly (!) vacuum/analyse/defrag
