    Default HM doesn't work

    hi everybody,

I used and bought HM and it was running well. I don't know why from a few weeks ago on it doesn't work at all.

    I got this error message:

    http://img150.imageshack.us/my.php?image=hmerrorjn2.jpg

I did everything but still doesn't work.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks.

What exactly dosent work, does HM not import the hands at all or does it import the hands and not show the HUD, have you got the latest update? http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloa...te1.06.03g.exe

    Hi,

I'm sorry if i didn't provide much information but the thing is it doesn't start at all. I got the message that posted in the link and then that's all.

It's not a problem importing hands or with the HUD , it is just doesn't start after the error message so I can't provide much more information. I'm running windows vista and I don't have any firewall or similar. So I don't know what to do. I've tried to reinstall the program and I have the last update.

    Thanks

I think it could be something related to the postgres program.

I've tried to reinstall it but when i'm in the screen where i have to type the pass , i put the standard pass "postgrespass" and then i got a message saying it is an invalid pass.

Whad should I type instead? I've read the postgres tutorial and that is suppossed to be the right password.

Did you definetely disable UAC? http://208.109.95.123/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=73

The password is selected by you, if you didnt change it then that would be the default but it should give you a screen after you get the password incorrect that says do you want HM to accept any password, please select yes for this and try and connect again and then it will accept the password.

If your still having trouble i can do a www.teamviewer.com session and walk you through it, just email morny@holdemmanager.net to arrange a suitable time and link to this thread

Yeah, i definitly turned off the UAC.

There has to be some kind of problem with the connection to postgres

I uninstalled and reinstalled everything again, (holdem manager and postgresSQL)

The problem still remains. When i try to start HM, I got the PostgresSQL screen but when i press "connect" an error message appear saying " A connection could not be made, would you like HM to attempt to start the service?" then i click yes and i got another message saying "Sorry HM was unable to start the service"

I think there's something wrong with my conexion because it worked well a month ago. I don't know if this is a clue, but my emule doesn't work either and it used to work. Nevertheless , my internet conexion works perfectly for the rest of the programs.

What should i check? I think is gonna be difficult to arrange the teamviewer session so any idea or suggesgtion is very wellcome as i can't play cash while HM is not working.

    thanks

This is almost always a problem to do with your antivirus blocking the connection to PostgreSQL, and is usually difficult to solve. Some people get it working disabling or adding PostgreSQL and HM programs to their exception list while lately ive seen people that had to completely uninstall their firewall/antivirus because it was still blocking it even when it was closed down completely.

Ive also had another person that had their Ethernet card block the service and that thread is here if you want to try that solution http://208.109.95.123/forum/showthread.php?t=2189

This solution also works for some people: http://208.109.95.123/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=153

Hi Morny I couldn't solve my problems yet and I've tried everything so I sent you an email to arrange a time for a session.

    Thanks.
