    Default HEM error, need help.

I tried opening HM today and it won't connect because of postgres?

Says I can't connect to the server. I don't really remember anything about how the whole postgres thing works. I just know when I try to load it I get a "can't connect to server name 127.0.0.1".

The database control panel pops up where I can edit the server name, port number, login name and pass but how do I like fix this?

I ran some spyware removal stuff like spy doctor yesterday did it mess with me and interfere with my postgres? How do I fix this?

    Anyway thanks.

specifically the error upon startup reads

"The following error occured when trying to open the database: Failed to establish a connection to "127.0.0.1". And I push "OK" and it
goes to the database management window.

    Default

This is usually a firewall or windows update issue.

    First try to reboot.

    If no help, try this:

    Start > Programs > PostgreSQL > 8.x > Stop Service

    Start > Programs > PostgreSQL > 8.x > Start Service

If that doesnt help delete the \postgresql\8.x\data\postmaster.pid file, if you see it. And reboot.

If that doesn't help you will have to reinstall PostgreSQL completely
