it freezes, then works for about 3 seconds, then freezes again. over and over.
any ideas why?
i also turned off the logs.
the original postgresql.conf
postgresql.conf
always make a copy before you tweak something
Patvs,
this is old tip is very dangerous for HM2 users
-9 Purge hand histories (It will free up disk space without losing stats, but you lose the option to see the HH or view the hand in the replayer)
You are right, but this thread is located in the HM1 area. Anyway i'll edit it.

Hi,
hope someone looks in the thread within the next 24h as i go for a trip.
This is my setup:
AMD Phenom II Quad Core
8GB RAM Corsair Vengeance
Win 7 64
Seagate Barracuda only for the database
Postgresql 9.0
I'm 24 tableing on Stars (avg 8k hands a day) with TableNinja, TableScanTurbo running. When i'm back from my trip i want to buy HM2 and Notecaddy (if you guys fixed the issue with the not updating HUD). Should i buy a SSD or is my current setup enough to run all this smoothly?
If a SSD, i focused on a OCZ Agility 3 120GB, Crucial m4 128 GB or a Samsung SSD 830 Series 128GB. Any experiences with one of the 3?
Thx

you need a SSD if you want to have a good NoteCaddy PC.... all HDDs are to slow if you have much note definitions + big database
but I don't know much which SSD is the best(+price) at them moment...
look at the 4k speeds in benchmarks
synchron is better than asynchron (a bit more expensive but if the price is not much higher than it is worthwhile in any case)
also you can think about a raid0 of 2x60GB (backup on a HDD if something crashes)
I think for someone like Patvs (or others) who know much about things like that you would be better to give a max $$$ if you don't want to check every benchmark thread on net ...
or you can check the net and search the SSD and programs like Crystal Disk Mark or AS SSD benchmark
and a Phenom II (old CPU) for 24tabling .. I don't know ... I think an Intel i5 or comparable would be better
just a quick answer :-)

I Run HM1 with my old laptop but i can't use HM2. The main reason is probably the hard drive so i wanted to know if i have to buy a new laptop or if i can just change my hardrive for a SSD. Here is my configuration:
Intel Dual-core 1.86 GHz, 533 MHz FSB, 1MB L2 cache
2 GB DDR2
I have a HM date base of about 20 GB.
Thanks.
