How to read it? what is this stuff like "category: 1a, 11, 14" etc?
How to read it? what is this stuff like "category: 1a, 11, 14" etc?
I hope one of my colleagues can answer this, i'll forward it.
the categories are just the rankings of the hand groups. Tom uses them in more in depth explanations in his book. It's not very important for the starting hand chart, but we have them there in case people want to reference them in other parts of his work. The unp ds is fairly common PLO language I believe, but there's also a reference chart for what it means in step 4 of Leak Buster.
i think that the chart as is, is way to blocky and chunky.
it wouldn't hurt to increase the page more and put some graphics of some cards to go with each starting chart.
i suggested this in my initial review/impression and still suggesting it now, especially for new people who are just fresh too omaha.
i read a lot of plo books, and play a lot of plo for my stakes and roll and i found the starting hand chart to hard to read so i just gave up on it.
