Default HM2 is unresponsive and slow, even with SSD

    Helo,

I ve been playing speed poker on ipoker recently and HM2 has been unresponsive and slow during sessions. I ve to click the icon several times on the task bar just to open it, session stats are slow to update (15-20 sec delay sometimes), nothing reacts smooth and worst of all its nigh impossible to mark a hand for later review. When I try to mark a hand HM starts loading then most of the time the options just "grey out". Everyone told me I should get a faster hard drive, so I ve invested in one, but barely anything changed. I ve reinstalled Win 7 64, postgresql, hm2 even the poker software to the new hd (new database, reimported hands too) and its still a mess. It happens a bit less often, but its still extremely annoying to deal with mid-session. Databese is 160k hands, so its not even close to big.

    CPU: i7 3770K 3.5 GHz
    memory: 8GB DDR3 665Mhz
    motherboard: MS 7558 (Z77A-G43)
    hd: Kingston HyperX FURY 240GB 2,5" SATA3 SSD KE-S32240-W

I think the hardware should be more then sufficient, HM2 runs smooth and super fast outside of speed poker sessions, any idea what could be causing the problem?

Since normal tables work fine I suppose your database isn't corrupt. So go through each step carefully in this FAQ on setting up iPoker Speed:- http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...r+Speed+Tables

This is a little strange to me [I'm not support though] it might relate to your antivirus actively scanning HM2 when you open it or the Firewall connections - these subjects are covered in the above FAQ

Do you have notecaddy enabled or any other HM2 apps running?
Do you regularly maintain your database [vacuum, analyse]?
    What AV?
Here's a great guide that covers just about all the ways you can improve performance:- http://forums.holdemmanager.com/gene...ance-tips.html

I'm really sorry and I know there is nothing more frustrating than having issues like this when trying to play. I hope i can help you resolve this quickly.

Does it help if you try disabling Note Caddy? Open HUD Settings, make sure you are on the HUD Designer tab, and uncheck "Show Caddy notes in HUD." Restart HM2.

Please check these 2 FAQs and try all the steps there to see if they help:
    - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...%28Firewall%29 - Resolves issues where security software continually try to scan files and processes which can slow down your PC
    - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...rts+%26+HUD%29 - General tips and solutions for performance issues

A few other things you could try to see if it helps when playing:
    - Does it help you disable the Options > Settings > General Settings > Miscellaneous > [ ] 'Automatically Refresh' option and restart HM2?
    - Try leaving HM2 on the 'Home' tab when playing.
    - Try picking a villain in the reports that only has a few hands in your database instead of your hero and restart HM2.
    - Try creating a new smaller database with just hands from the past 1 or 2 months to use when playing.

If you continue to have problems, please reproduce the problem and zip/attach your HM2Logs folder with a detailed description of what you were doing and what problems you were experiencing. Email this file to hm2support@holdemmanager.com with a link to this thread and your forum name.
