Default HEM2 on a new Laptop

    Hi lads,

My laptop died unexpectedly and i needed to get a new one. Obviously i lost everything and need to get everything back on the new laptop. What's the best way to start from scratch again? I know i had some trouble previously with Windows Firewall etc. Also, which license should i use?

Reason asking is that i'm not 100% as i seem to have a few licenses on my account. Can you access them and let me know? Or can i private message them to someone (the image of my licenses) for advice?

    Thanks

    Tony

You only have one product. Use the HoldemManager 2 Licensing system code.

Please see this FAQ to alleviate any security bottlenecks:

    http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...olders+HM2+use

See this for HM2 performance tips:

    http://forums.holdemmanager.com/gene...ance-tips.html

If you use Note Caddy, see this:

NoteCaddy speed improvement - Assaultware Wiki

    Please install this version:

    http://www.holdemmanager.com/Downloa...ager2Setup.exe

After downloading, you should right-click the file, go to properties and click unblock. Then, right click the file and run as administrator.

If you continue to have problems, please reproduce the problem, describe exactly what you were doing, and attach your log.txt file -

    http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...ger+Support%3F

You can get a device to get the information from the old hard drive.

I have one of these that I really like and use a decent amount.
    Regards udbrky (Chris)

    Thanks Chris,

I had Holdem Manager 2 plus Omaha, but now i've only got Holdem Manager 2 now.

I followed all the steps and i've managed to recover most of my stuff too, and it seems to be working fine. I'm missing a ton of hands though, especially from Micro where i have many a couple of 100k hands.

There's no folder stored in HM2archive, are they all stored in the GameHistory.dat file?

I've played maybe 1k hands on Micro since the new install, and none of these hands are in HM2archive folder. If i replace the current .dat file with the old one, i presume i'll just have to lose the 1k hands or so i played?

Any other tips where hands might be? Thanks

    Tony

The gamehistory.dat files should get archived as well I believe but it only gets archived after it is a certain MB in size. If more than one needs to be archived the same day they get renamed slightly when archived. You can archive it manually and rename it before you try replacing it to make sure you have a backup copy of it.

I still have a code down as active on my account. No idea what's going on.

Edit - I just reset my profiles and its fine.

Thanks for letting us know this solved your issue.

When changing computer, or changing a hardware component (new harddrive, new videocard, etc.) your 'machine code' will change.
And you'll then have to reset the license.
