Help with installing postgress, getting serious headaches please help!!

Hi Guys,

I have been spending hours on trying fixes to install postgress...heres where i am at

i have a new PC with a main SSD, and secondary HDD, I74770 proccessor, running windows 8...

so this was a clean install but post gress fails to install so HEM therefore cannot install...

Well postgress kinda installs but does not seem able to connect to server?

Trying mannually fails too, i get message "problem running post-install step. instillation may not complete correctly Error reading file D:/data/postgresql.conf"

I have followed steps in the Sticky thread, changed Secondary Logon to run auto, changed properties etc... i have no anti virus, turned off UAC! with every new install i have deleted the user by running command prompt via administrator....

Can you please help here? i also got a new laptop recenlty with windows 8 and a clean install worked fine no issues at all, could it be my pc set up?....

This is most likely a permissions issue.

Which Firewall, and Anti-Virus are you using? Have you tried creating a new folder such as C:\PostgreSQL and downloading/installing v9.0.x from postgresql.org?
