I cant install postgre in Windows 8

Hi, i´m since yesterday trying to do work my HM2. I´ve bought a Notebook with Windows 8 but i can´t do work postgres.

I´ve tried to install version 9.2,(both), 8.4, HM2 Package... but it´s still not working.

When the installation is ready, the last message says that i installation could be wrong because have a problem (or not exist) with config archive or holdemmanager.confi (i dont remember the exactly name) in the data folder.

When i try to use HM2, HM2 Wizard try to connect in a window like this:



I disable my firewall of McAffe and port 5432 is able in the firewall. I´ve disable UAC too.

Sorry for my english, i´m spanish.

I need your help, i´m not playing since Saturday.

Windows 8 is tough for Postgres.

Here is a guide to help with issues with Windows 8 and HM.

The things to check first are:

- reset password
- Change folder permissions for all users in your postgresql folder.

I´ve changed folder permissions for all users (or something like that) but when i tried to change password in the same chart like my last image, i recive the message "ERROR: Sorry, we were unabled to reset your password"

and type there
net user postgres postgrespass
this will set password to default one (postgrespass)

I tried to do that but the CMD says:

Access denied

Also, make sure you have unblocked the installer from your firewall/anti-virus.

Yes, its done. I tried as admin and it worked, but i still have the same problem and i can´t do work Postgres in Windows 8.

I´m getting crazy with to do work postgres. (i think HM1 & 2 works and the problem is with postgres, but i´m not sure because i couldn´t access to HM).

Make sure you are changing the permissions to full for the postgresql folders. This was another major obstacle with win 8.
