Default Can I disable PostgreSQL server when running an external server?

    Hello!

I am running HM2 in a win7 virtual machine on a KDE linux box. Since I also run a Postgresql server on a linux server, I connect to the HM database over the network. This setup works flawless and seems to be quicker than running the database within the virtual machine.

Now since the virtual machine is obviously running still slower than a normal win7 installation I wonder why i need the Postgresql server services within the virtual machine. Doesn't HM only need to connect to the external server as a CLIENT? And how can I do that (which services to disable?)?

    thx for your help, piedro

In Windows Services, try disabling the PostgreSQL server.
