Default Cant get anywhere with HM2 or HM!!!

Cant get either of the 2 to load properly.

Background - Recently done a system restore and since then could not seem to get Postgresql to Start service. It would just not be able to start. I then done some messing around with Postgresql but couldnt delete the folder in Program Files as it was always being used with another program. I digress, the current postgres I have running on comp is 8.4 and 9.1 Should I only have 1 of these?

Also because of the problems I was having I have uninstalled and reinstalled both HM2 and HM using the latest downloads that are available as of today, here are the problems I am having

HM2 - Wants me to register my serial number, I do so and get "The serial number could not be used to unlock the software. Please try again." I have reset my serial code for both HM2 and HM on this site and still no luck. Help!

HM - Gets angry upon trying to load it. Get - "csc.exe - Application Error. The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142). Click OK to close the application". I click OK and it then asks me to activate your software. I click activate online now and PC #1 and get the exact same error message followed by the activate your software screen again. This continues on a loop! Help!

Not sure if either of these are Postgres related or if I have 3 individual problems, just need help in getting either of the HMs to work!

    Thanks,
    Rob F

You can have both 8.4 and 9.1 as long as each is using a separate port, for example 5432 (for 8.4), and 5433 (for 9.1)

    Update: http://www.holdemmanager.com/Downloa...25Jun2012a.exe (HM1)

    http://www.holdemmanager.com/Downloa...AutoUpdate.exe (HM2)

Done all of the above. Using Windows 7 with AVG Free (which iv never had a problem!)

HM2 - Still getting exact same problem except now just before it says "The serial number could not be used to unlock the software. Please try again." I get the same error that I get for HM - "csc.exe - Application Error. The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142). Click OK to close the application"

HM1 - No change in problem

For W7 and Vista you must set \holdem manager\dbcontrolpanel.exe, holdemmanager.exe and hmhud.exe are started as administrator. Run the windows explorer and navigate to your Holdemmanager installation directory. Right click the executables and select properties... then select "Run as admin" from the compatibility tab.

Add exceptions to the windows firewall for holdemmanager.exe and hmhud.exe, even if the firewall is turned off. If you have a 3rd party firewall, do the equivalent or uninstall it temporarily.

Make sure your video card drivers and windows auto updates are fully updated. Run a manual Windows Update and install all updates, including all .net framework updates./

Add exceptions to the windows firewall for holdemmanager.exe and hmhud.exe, even if the firewall is turned off. If you have a 3rd party firewall, do the equivalent or uninstall it temporarily. Added the exceptions - No change. Only using Windows Firewall. Tried both on and off

Make sure your video card drivers and windows auto updates are fully updated. Run a manual Windows Update and install all updates, including all .net framework updates./ Just done the search for updates and nothing appears related to video card drivers or .net framework updates

Hidden System Files... are different than just 'Hidden Files'.

Ahhh, sorry chap, im not the most technical when it comes to computers

Done what you suggested above and still getting the same problem however now its back to how it was described in the OP... The error message that I get for HM1 no longer appears when I try to load HM2 - "csc.exe - Application Error. The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142). Click OK to close the application"

Also done what Chris suggested in his email in clearing the temp folder and that did not work also, although there were 3 items in that folder that wouldnt delete

please reinstall your Microsoft .NET Framework:

    1) Run http://rvgsoftware.fileburst.com/dot...eanup_tool.zip
    2) Install this one: http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...dotnetfx35.exe

If that doesn't resolve it, it seems the due to the System Restore, critical elements are now missing (or corrupt) from Windows.
Can you go to another restore point? What was the reason to go to a previous restore point to begin with?
