Cannot start postgreSQL

Hello,

I have had HM2 installed for couple years, but today I received the popup containing "HM2 cannot connect to postgreSQL server..."

I went through the steps outlined in the wizard to no avail.

I then watched the posted video for trouble shooting the issue. During the step in the services area, I attempted to 'start' postgreSQL, but after a minute got the message, "Windows could not start the PostgreSQL service on local computer... error 1053". I have had no changes to my antivirus software or windows firewall or security. The only other difference from the video was that I did not have a 'postmaster.pid' file.

The postmaster.pid file will be recreated when the server is running properly.
(however it shouldn't disappear by itself)


Try reinstalling PostgreSQL manually with the installer from PostgreSQL: The world's most advanced open source database
(8.4.x)

If it won't install, install a different of PostgreSQL to a different port.
For example 9.2.x to port 5433, or 8.2 http://ftp.postgresql.org/pub/binary...l-8.2.22-1.zip
