if i keep up the preferred seat hud options then it does but when its closed after a while they are all set to '-'

- Please export your HUD's in HUD Options.

- Then delete the prefs file in the config folder in*
8/7/Vista: C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\HoldemManager\
XP: C:\Documents and Settings\User_name\Application Data\HoldemManager
- Import your HUD's again.
- Set your seating preferences to match the site's seating preferences.
If there is none:
set it to "-" for the right HUD and site for each game type/# of players.
Open one table, make sure positions line up.
Click settings on the summary HUD on the table, find the HUD name, click Use for all

Please make sure you are running HM2 as an administrator
1) Go to C:\Program Files\Holdem Manager 2 (Program Files (x86) for the 64bit version)
2) Right click the HoldemManager.exe and choose "Properties".
3) Go to the Compatibility Tab and select "Run this program as an Administrator".
4) Repeat Steps 2 and 3 for HudFuncsApp.exe
Add exceptions for HM2, PostgreSQL, and any other programs you use for poker to your firewall and anti-virus exceptions lists.

Turn off User Account Control: Turn User Account Control on or off
Run a manual Windows Update and install all updates, including all .net framework updates.

Windows 7/8/Vista: C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\HoldemManager\
Showing hidden files and sytem files and folders: Show hidden files
Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\User_name\Application Data\HoldemManager
Showing hidden files and sytem files and folders: Microsoft Corporation
is not read only and that all permissions are set to full for your user name. The folder will continue showing read only after that, this is an issue in Windows.

do i have to run it as administrator even if my account is an admin account?
Yes, add additional administrator privileges to HoldemManager.exe, etc... or turn off UAC and reboot.

i always have UAC OFF ....
Then try turning it on.... set the manual exceptions (right-click--> properties) for all the HoldemManager files.
