    Default Backup & restore doesnt seem to work for me

    Hello

    Im trying to backup configs etc (no hands) from my desktop and get theese on to my laptop.
    This doesnt seem to work for some reason, nothing (Huds,popups etc) gets in when i use the restore function on the laptop.

    Any known issues about this? (HM2)

    I have postgres 8.4 on my desktop and 8.3 on my laptop, could this be the problem? And if so, what should be the solution without loosing any data on any of the databases?

    PostgreSQL 8.4.x is incompatible with 8.3.x.
    They need to match to successfully backup/restore settings. (using the backup/restore tool).


    You can either:
    -manually "export" your custom HUD, popups etc. and move them to the order computer (manually replacing the files)
    -or also install PostgreSQL 8.4 on the other computer.

    Thanks for the quick answer

    I think i would prefer to just update to 8.4, but nothing bad will happend to my database, errors etc? I dont have do do any changes in the HM or anything at all, just update to 8.4 and im good to go?

    Yes, you should only need to update to 8.4 and then you should be able to restore the database from the desktop into the laptop without a problem.
